Recipe: Mussels in White Wine Sauce
Looking for a simple seafood dish for Lent? Mussels in white wine sauce is one of my favorites. 🍽️
It’s light, comforting, and comes together quickly. Start by sautéing garlic and shallots in olive oil and butter, then add a splash of dry white wine—a crisp Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio works great. Let it simmer, add the mussels, cover, and steam until they open.
Finish with fresh herbs like parsley, thyme, or tarragon, a squeeze of lemon, and serve with crusty bread to soak up the broth. Simple ingredients, big flavor.
